The Bard Colour concept

First thing's first! GENERAL colour scheme. First i started with the top left 8 images to decide on a theme. This was vastly open-ended, throwing colour at it until i had something that worked together then refining it in the subsequent 8 images, reviewing with the group and adding accessories (like the jacket) and making subtle changes until blowing him back up to 512 resolution (ish) and then...

Making some absolutely final changes based on what each person in the group thought (josh wanted the left image and Martin, Me and Matt thought the right - at the end of the day josh could have over-ruled us but decided the opinion of the majority should win)

then added some lighting and made the colours more defined into the scene to really make him pop. I used a slight highlight around the edges to simulate a rim-light effect and this is the first of our main characters concepted to a final visual standard (though the objects in-game will probably end up having less lighting definition but that will be confirmed when we come to build shaders)
